Reference Positions

Some tables are displayed with Bearing and Distance to a marker, callsign, or country entity. These values are calculated using a reference position. The position used is generally your Home Position, which is set in the Options page.

Sometimes, though, a panel is provided which allows you to set a different reference position: for instance, in the 'Search > Amateur Radio Countries' tabpage. These panels gives three options:

1/ Home Position: as mentioned above. Its value is shown adjacent to the radio-button.

2/ Marker Position: this normally has no value set adjacent to it, and cannot be used. However, if you have added some Icons to the map, by, for instance, plotting some callsigns from a Log, you can right-click an Icon on the map and select the option 'Position Referenced Searching'. Doing this will add the Icon position to all of the 'Marker Position' buttons in all of the program's 'Select a Reference Position for Bearing and Distance' panels. You can then use this value as the reference position.

3/ Entered Position: You can enter your own decimal Latitude and Longitude values for the reference position, using minus values for South and West.
