Tables

The 'Tables' tab-page lists the data that is in use when a map is plotted. The number and type of columns, and their contents, depends on which map has been plotted. The content shown is often an expended version of the smaller table in the 'Vector Map' tab-page, but not always. When performing tasks such as 'Contest Mode' or 'UDP Mode', the data shown will reflect the current background map.

The area for states, sections, and counties is shown in square miles.

When a 'Search' is performed, and some results have been retrieved, they will be listed in the 'Tables' tab-page.

You can adjust the size of any of the columns by hovering your mouse over the small line that divides the column-headers until it turns into a double-headed arrow, and then left-click and drag, as required.

You can sort the entire table based on the contents of any of the columns by left-clicking the required column header. Click once for an ascending-order sort, and click again for a descending-order sort.

You can export the entire table, in its current order, as a CSV file by clicking 'Export > Export 'Tables' to CSV file. After a short processing period, a window will appear that lets you navigate to the destination-folder for the CSV file. Enter a suitable filename in the 'Filename' box, and choose a suitable file-suffix with the 'Save as type' control. If in doubt, leave at the default '.csv' setting. After saving, you are given the option to open the saved CSV file. This will use whatever program you have set as the default handler for that file-type. Note that although it is called a 'comma' separated file, I have chosen to use the Pipe-character (|) as the separating character, as this is less likely to clash with any other data values.

If you do not have a program that can open CSV files, or if you are not happy with the one you have, I would recommend that you try 'CSVed', which you can download from https://csved.sjfrancke.nl/index.html (Link will open in your Browser). Although a free program, I hope that if you like it, as I am sure you will, you send Sam Francke a small donation.

Right-clicking on a line in the table provides other options, such as 'Highlight on Vector Map', 'Outline on Online Map', 'Copy to Clipboard'. Just which options are currently available depends on what the Table is currently displaying. The 'Copy to Clipboard' option copies the data on the selected line to the clipboard, in CSV format. The data that defines each column is selected in the control adjacent to the top line of headers. For instance, you can choose to see the name of Counties, or 3-character code, or 4-character code, etc.
