Everyone has their own favourite artist. Many people would even go so far as to say that so-and-so is the greatest. Learned people might even use this as an opportunity to present a case as to why their opinion is the true one.

I will do none of these. I would simply like to introduce you to my own favourite, the English watercolour painter S.R. Badmin. In the following pages you will see some scans from the Shell Guide to Trees and Shrubs. I will let his paintings sing their own praises. No other words are necessary.

This book has been out of print for many years, so I make no apologies for presenting these images here. I only hope that by experiencing the work of S.R. Badmin, you might thus be tempted to acquire some of his other works yourself.
