Load Cabrillo to Auxiliary Log

This menu-subitem is used to load a Cabrillo-format (Link will open in your Browser) log-file into the Auxiliary Log. If there are already some QSOs in the Auxiliary Log, you will be given the option of replacing those QSOs with the new log, or appending the new QSOs to the existing ones. Once loaded, the Auxiliary Log is sorted by date and time, so any new QSOs will be shown at their correct date and time positions, NOT added to the end of the existing QSOs.

The Cabrillo format, favoured by contest operators, has no facility to provide a means of storing the position of the received call (except in certain cases where the Grid Locator is used as part of the contest exchange), and so the log will be geocoded using callsign-positions derived from the callbook database. Any Grid Locators in the contest exchange will be given priority, though, as these are likely to be more accurate than the postcode-position found in the callbook address. Certain QSO-lines in the file will not be added to the log: those with coding errors, non-VK calls, portable calls, and calls not found in the callbook database.

The log will then be checked for unique band and mode values: these will be added to the 'Plot Calls By Band' and 'Plot Calls By Mode' menu-subitems, so that you can see and plot QSOs for the bands and modes that the log contains.

Note that Auxiliary Log facilities are only available during the Trial Period, and if the programme is subsequently registered with an 'Advanced' licence. You can always upgrade a 'Standard' licence if you wish to enable Main and Auxiliary Log storage and plotting.
