The 'VK Callbook Mapper' programme includes a list of DXCC country-entities that can be plotted on the Online Map by right-clicking a chosen line in the table and selecting 'Show on Map' from the context-menu. A marker will be added on the map at your Home QTH, and another marker added in the centre of the selected country, and then the short-path route of the signal will be shown as well. We are so used to imagining the world on a rectangular map with a Mercator projection that it is often a surprise to see the route that our signals actually take. Try clicking 'TF - Iceland', for instance. If we had viewed the Great Circle Map, though, we might have realised this in advance.

Assuming that you have entered your QTH's latitude and longitude position by clicking 'Help > Options > Mapping > User Details', you can then perform a 'User Spatial Query' on the DXCC table data by right-clicking any table line and choosing 'User Spatial Query'. What this command does is to order the complete table by distance from your User-location. You can thus discover the countries that are the closest to you, and those farthest way.

A 'Bearing' column is also added to the table, that shows the short-path bearing from your User-location. If you wish, you can order the table by bearing simply by clicking that column's header, to see all of the countries that your signal will cross on any particular beam-heading, and those countries that will be included for a specified beam pattern width.
